The Integration Council is a political body representing all people with an international family background. It is democratically elected and consists of 13 members. Seven of the delegates in the Council are elected directly by those citizens of Monheim who hold a foreign passport or obtained German citizenship through naturalization. The City Council appoints the other six members of the Integration Council.
The Integration Council has the political weight of a committee and is the expert body for coexistence in diversity and for integration. It is an advisor on these matters and prepares recommendations for Council decisions. As a rule, the sessions of the Integration Council are open to the public. The dates are announced via the "Ratsinformationssystem" (City Council information system).
