With lots of little stalls, numerous lights, the smell of punch and a cozy atmosphere, a visit to the Christmas market in the old part of town is a cherished tradition for many people during the Advent season in Monheim. In 2024, it will take place as usual on the third and fourth weekend of Advent. On Sunday, December 15, shops are also open.
The arts and crafts stands offer a variety of items, such as gift ideas with a local touch, handmade jewelry, handmade toys, painting and art, pottery, woodwork and blacksmithing articles, bookbinding art, stationery, traditional crafts, handmade decorations that have been knitted, crocheted, sewn and embroidered, lights and light decorations or first-rate packaged food and beverages , such as spirits, coffee, delicacies, tea, spices or jams.
For young and old alike, there will be an atmospheric stage program. The visit of Santa Claus and a children's carousel will once again enhance the Christmas market this year.
The Christmas market is open from Friday to Sunday. On Fridays, the market starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m., on Saturdays you can stroll and celebrate in a festive atmosphere from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sundays the market is open to visitors from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
