Monheim am Rhein is a great location for economic success and a good quality of life. The mix is increasingly appreciated by people working at the many national and international companies or families from the surrounding cities of Cologne and Düsseldorf who opt to settle here. As a result, the demand for retail space is increasing. Particularly in the fashion, sports, leisure and toy sectors, supply can hardly meet the increasing demand. The town is growing and changing its appearance in a remarkably dynamic way. There are many good reasons for coming to Monheim, and once you're here, you won't want to leave. 

The Business Development Department is well networked and in an active dialog with retailers and owners of commercial property. They all work together to promote Monheim am Rhein as a good location in which to do business. The City is investing in many areas to make the shopping streets more attractive and to increase the quality of life. These investments are paying off. This is also shown by the results of the latest survey by the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A good shopping location includes attractive shops, customer proximity, a pleasant atmosphere, long opening hours, good parking facilities and exciting promotions – and Monheim am Rhein is such a location. In a survey conducted by the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Düsseldorf IHK), 300 passers-by and 80 businesspeople in Monheim's city center clearly confirmed this.

The survey is conducted by Düsseldorf IHK every five years. The businesspeople and most of the customers from Monheim who responded to the survey praised, above all, the parking facilities. Other plus points are the shop opening hours, the diversity of the range of products on offer, the atmosphere and activities such as Monheim City Festival. The retailers appreciate the low trade tax rate, the proximity of the Rhine, and Monheim's central location. One third of the retailers surveyed have settled in Monheim in the last four years.
